Management Team

The management team of Firm58 possesses a unique and complementary combination of technical, operating and leadership skills. All members have worked successfully together in the past, and each member has founded or served in key roles with both successful startup ventures and Fortune 500 organizations.


 + Curt J. Witte, CEO and President

Mr. Witte has a proven track record in communications and software industries with over 20 years of experience, from scaling start-up ventures by over 14x, to running $10 billion Fortune 50 lines of business, with specific experience in strategy, marketing, sales, product management, finance and business development. Mr. Witte has specialized capabilities including rapid turnaround of major businesses, enterprise scaling and transformation, commercialization of complex new technologies, product development, sales channel reengineering, business development / acquisitions. Mr. Witte has held senior management positions at leading companies including: AT&T (NYSE: T), Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH), Lexington Financial Partners, CommSoft Partners LLC, and PeopleClick. Mr. Witte graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics and was a Rothschild Scholar at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University where he received an MBA.


 + Samuel Mele, SVP of BD and MD Intl

Sam has over 15 years of sales and management experience in enterprise software. As the VP of Sales for Europe Middle East and Africa from 2000 to 2002 at Ariba, Inc., Sam was responsible for all sales activities and played a key role in establishing Ariba EMEA, driving revenues from $2 million to over $100 million in just two years. Prior to joining Ariba, Sam spent 10 years with Oracle Corporation in various sales roles during a period when Oracle's annual revenues grew from $500 million to over $8 billion. Sam graduated with Honors from the University of Illinois with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.


 + James Mullen, SVP of Product Mgmt and Global Ops

Jim has over 17 years of software development experience in enterprise software. Jim was the founder and President of Intercap Systems, a software company that designed and built leading-edge financial services back office systems. Prior to Intercap, Jim held senior technical and sales management positions at Siebel, Softwire/Kabira, Rich/Reuters and Oracle. Jim holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a B.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.



 + Jonathan Arney, Vice President of National Sales

Jon has over 10 years of enterprise software experience and leads Firm58's commercial operations from New York City. He previously managed financial services companies in the New York area for Ariba, Inc. and was Channels Director for Europe Middle East and Africa. Prior to Ariba, Jon worked at Oracle Corporation with positions in Paris and Chicago, and as a CPA at Price Waterhouse LLP in Chicago. Jon graduated from the University of Michigan Business School with a B.B.A. degree.


 + Sanjivendra (Scotty) Nath, VP of Global Operations

Scotty has over 18 years of engineering and consulting management in enterprise solutions delivery. Most recently, he was responsible for delivering e-testing solutions for three divisions within Houghton Mifflin. He was also VP of Delivery for mPower Inc., where he was responsible for engineering, customer support, and strategic alliances. mPower was acquired by Morningstar in May, 2003. Previous positions included Vice President of Systems and e-solutions at CNA Insurance and over 10 years in senior product management, sales consulting and engineering positions with Oracle Corp. and Amdahl Corp. Scotty has a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology, a dual M.S. in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University, and an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from University of California at Berkeley.


 + Norm Hanson, Director of Program Management

Norm has over 13 years of software development and consulting experience in enterprise software. Prior to Firm58, as an independent consultant, Norm developed a web-based architecture enabling real-time P&L and portfolio risk analysis at UBS O'Connor and led several development initiatives at Orbitz. Before moving to Chicago, Norm worked as a Managing Consultant at Raymond James Consulting in Denver, Colorado where his clients included Oppenhiemer Mutual Funds, Invesco Mutual Funds and First Trust. Norm holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Physics and completed post graduate work in Technology and Business Integration at The University of Chicago.


 + Rich Wharton, Vice President of Finance

Mr. Rich Wharton has a 20 year career as an executive with a proven track record of improving profitability and optimizing process performance. His career spans numerous executive positions at companies including Price Waterhouse, Chicago Athletic Association and Trans Union. Mr. Wharton has specific industry experience in technology, financial services, manufacturing and hospitality, and broad operational expertise including general management, operations, corporate accounting, human resources, IT and legal. Mr. Wharton is a certified public accountant, and has a B.S. in Accounting, Valparaiso University.

 + Lena Borisenko, Director of Client Services

Ms. Borisenko has over 11 years of technology and service experience in data integration and enterprise software solutions. Prior to Firm58, she held senior, and front-line, management positions at Siemens and Reuters, in technical client support and deployment functions. Ms. Borisenko has significant experience in "ground-up" development of complex, large scale national technical client support infrastructures. Ms. Borisenko holds a B.S. in Computer Science from DePaul University.
