Pritzker Group Venture Capital’s Adam Koopersmith Wins Investor of the Year at 2015 Moxie Awards

Firm58 investor and board member Adam Koopersmith recently won Investor of the Year at the 2015 Moxie Awards. His accomplishments are a testament the quality of Firm58’s board members, as well as Chicago’s growing venture capital and tech scene.

Adam began working with Firm58 in 2007 after meeting co-founder Sam Mele at the Chicago Entrepreneurial Center. Adam led the first institutional round in Firm58 and has been a significant contributor to the growth of the company ever since. He’s a huge believer that the success of local SaaS companies– especially those helping established industries improve their critical, often back-office functions – betters the Chicago business community as a whole.

“The stronger the Chicago ecosystem is, the stronger the technology coming out of companies in Chicago, the better it is for all of us, ” says Adam. “There are lots of traditional industries that need innovative technology to help them do business better.”

Adam began his career on the East Coast as an investor, eventually moving to Chicago where he received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. After completing his graduate degree, Adam spearheaded several major initiatives at Sportvision Inc. as the VP of business development. He returned to investing in 2004, when he joined Pritzker Group Venture Capital, and now holds several board positions for Chicago B2B companies including Advantage Optics, Apervita, and Firm58.

“This award confirms what we already know about Adam, he’s a major player in the Chicago venture community, and the partnerships he forms are always about driving innovation in areas where people ordinarily wouldn’t think to focus,” says Nick Fera, CEO of Firm58. “On top of that, he pushes businesses to create a truly great workplace culture, something that we have certainly benefited from.”

His Firm58 family was proud, although not too surprised, to hear of Adam’s accomplishment. Congratulations, Adam!
